Drs. Salli Forbes and Debra Rich are the Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy (PCL) Trainers for the Center. Preparation to be a PCL trainer requires a full year of post-doctoral work with Dr. Linda Dorn at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. PCL trainers, within an established partner university, are responsible for initial and ongoing professional development for PCL Coaches, supporting a network of affiliated PCL sites, expanding and strengthening sites within the network, ensuring the integrity of PCL within the region, and abiding by the Implementation Standards and Guidelines Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy (PCL) Model. The Jacobson Center for Comprehensive Literacy is one of eight partner universities currently providing the organizing structure for states or regions of the United States. Drs. Sohyun Meacham, Sarah Vander Zanden, and Beth Van Meeteren have also completed preparation as PCL Trainers, although they have not taught the PCL coach preparation courses.
