Preparation Programs

Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy Coaches

The Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy Program of Iowa university trainers prepare Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy Coaches.  Students focus their program of study according to their employment as a Comprehensive Literacy Model (CLM) or Comprehensive Intervention Model (CIM) Coach.  Those who successfully complete the Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy (PCL) Coach preparation program are awarded the Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy Certificate upon successful completion of the specified coursework. The Advanced Studies Certificate is noted on the student’s transcript and provides evidence of the advanced program of study beyond a master’s degree.

Comprehensive Intervention Model Teachers

Comprehensive Intervention Model (CIM) Coaches at affiliated sites prepare Comprehensive Intervention Model (CIM) teachers. Those who successfully complete the CIM teacher preparation program are awarded the Comprehensive Intervention Model Teacher Certificate upon successful completion of the specified coursework.

Ongoing Professional Development

After the year of preparation, all Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy personnel (Partnerships in Comprehensive Literacy university trainers, Partnerships in Comprehensive (CLM and CIM) Coaches, classroom teachers, Comprehensive Intervention Model teachers) continue to participate in ongoing professional development for as long as they are employed in these positions.
